The Doctor called him an angel, not because he was one, but because it flowed well. He had a thing for theatrical names. He was a little bit camp that way. The enthusiastic smirk grew at the enthusiasm clearly expressed by the two people on his ship. He loved enthusiastic partners in crime.
And he shared a cocky look with Rose as his impressiveness was reaffirmed. Egomaniac, him. There's a way to get on his good side. Call him impressive, then ask about his ship. He seemed quite pleased about that last part, and leaned against the console for a second, looking thoughtful.
"You can feel her, can't you?" He was always happy to travel with a being who could conceptualize the TARDIS as a living thing, especially since Castiel probably had a better understanding than most humans about the old girl. She was so much more than just a ship- she was alive. Of course, Rose knew that, but not in any way she could ever put into words. Castiel's perception of her would be different- more accurate, more clear. And that alone made the Doctor pleased. He patted the console fondly. "I think I know just the place."
He'd tell Castiel all about her, later, once the adventure was over and they had time alone- probably sometime while Rose slept.
He looked manic, and threw a lever. The console room shook. Rose didn't have time to ask him to go somewhere safe- the thought of losing Castiel to this life- exposing him to the recklessness of her past, of running through the universe, and him getting hurt, or killed, or worse ran through her mind. She'd... she'd gone so bloody domestic.
